Shipping Module Dissing Download ?

Greetings to the list!

I'm using v1.3.8a and am having a problem with a downloadable product and Step 1 of 3 of the Checkout Shipping process which is telling me

"Not Available At This Time"
and
"Sorry, we are not shipping to your region at this time."

In keeping with recommendations about downloadable products I have not defined this product as a virtual product, and have set regular shipping rules to apply. A look at the product attributes reveals that the file is recognized as being there in the downloads directory (green button).

It was my understanding that the cart would automatically detect that there is a file to be downloaded and skip the shipping information aspect of the checkout process but this does not seem to be happening.

Any thoughts about what might be happening or why?

Downloads never display the checkout_shipping page ...

Check the Product again for:

Product is Virtual: No, Shipping Address Required

Always Free Shipping: No, Normal Shipping Rules

Check the Attribute for the Download that you see the green dot next to the filename ...

Check the Option Name for the Attribute that it is set as a dropdown or radiobutton ... you can use checkboxes, but that is more rare to want to do that ... make sure that it is not a TEXT, FILE or READONLY ...
