My spacific products I sell are making this difficult please help

I sell saltwater coral that HAS to be shipped over night
I want my module to have Flat rate $45 anywhere in the US with a 5lb limit. I know that 10 coral weigh 5lbs so I made my module to hold 10lb because this way I can just put 1lbs per coral listed.

I have accomplished this putting 10:$45.00
Then for each coral I sell I list them as 1lbs because I have a 10 coral per box limit.

BUT!!!! If I want to list a heat pack that is less then a lb and I can ship it for $4.90 anywhere in the us how do I add that in without it thinking its a flat $45
Or if I have other dried goods that add up to 5lbs I know they will ship ground alot cheaper then over night

So I guess this is a clash of 'product' shipping

I order:
5lbs or less of Coral and it is $45

What happens when I order 6lbs? 7lbs? 10lbs? 15lb?

I order 1 heat pack ... what shipping method should be used for this?

IF ... you used UPS to handle all costs for shipping to manage things not live ...

and then customized the UPS shipping module to identify all the Corals or other such live things that must go overnight and you know that this is based on 5lbs is $45 and were able to count the number of items that are Corals or other such live things that must go overnight and take the quantity of these Products and used (live_quantity/10) * 45 + whatever UPS rates for everything else ... would this calculate correctly?

Well I have it as
1-10 coral = $45
There is a NOTICE: on all coral pages that state there is a 10 coral limit per box and most people who buy coral online know this
Also coral goes with coral and never gets packaged with other items. If someone wanted a couple heat packs thrown in the box they would ask me first and I would just add a couple bucks to their bill to cover the cost of the heavier box

I guess what I might have to do is only ship dried goods with USPS and my coral with UPS
Is that possible? That would make it alot easier

If the Coral is a simple formula, why wouldn't adding its cost to the real time quote work?

If I am given a quote for shipping of $5.79 for my regular products, and then calculated the Coral to be $45 ... would just adding the two together for $50.79 work?
