help question Importing Customer Data from Filemaker

Our company ran a very minor online shop before we upgraded to Zen cart. Our new site has been up and running very well now for 5 months or so, and we now want to drop filemaker pro, and just use Zen Cart back end for all our clinet list etc.

What I would like to know is how to IMPORT all the Customer Name Addrrss, Telephone, and Email address into the Zen Cart database.

What fields and field names do I have to set up for export from Filemaker to be compatible with Zen Cart?

I have looked at Easy Populate but this seems to be only for products, does anyone know what we need to do to do this?

    Thanks,

    Rufus

    Because customer registration requires:-

    1. encrypted password generation on sign-up
    2. Splitting of data across database tables (address_book, customers, customer_info, etc...)
    3. Complex sql queries to import data (because of the auto_incremental and relational nature of the data)

... it is not really possible to upload it into the database (like easypopulate does with products).

    You have 2 choices:

    1. Write to current customers explaining the new shop and invite them to register.
    2. Use this module to add them via the admin panel - one at a time.

    Thanks for the quick reply.

What we want this data for is so we can mass email all of our customers form zen cart to let them know about our new websites etc.

So is there a way to add just the customer name and Email address into the mailing database or is it all hooked into the same database?

Otherwise someones going tohave a long winter adding 3000 new clients into the back end :-)

    Thanks again.

Ypu need to be looking at the table 'customers' in the database. This contains the name of the customer and their email address. Export the table as a CSV file and you should be able to import it into MS Excel.
