I know how to turn on or off the stock on hand feature, however is it possible to have ZC display on a set amount of stock on hand?

Basically, I sell patches on my site.
At present my customers can't see how many of each item are available. If I turn this feature on, my customers will see that for some items I have hundreds available - however, there are times when I don't want the customer to know that there is a large quantity available.
Is there a way to modify the system so that the maximum stock on hand is displayed as say 5? (where as in reality there may be more).
This way the customer still can see there are items available to buy but not the true amount.

Sounds strange I know.
