Good morning Dr Byte,
On this topic "Download Redirect 403 Forbidden Server Error", today I tried to download from my webshop a document file called bjones2.zip, and after I got the 403 error message I went to my Doteasy apache server's error log and retrieved the following message (I've deleted my client number from it):
[Wed Oct 21 23:29:22 2009] [error] [client #] Symbolic link not allowed or link target not accessible: /home/virtual/site199/fst/var/www/html/shop/pub/.udsmrlerxwfoyelg/bjones2.zip
But the file bjones2.zip has been uploaded to the right place. I know this because the Zen Cart admin panel shows a green dot when it recognizes the file. Also because when redirect is turned off, the file downloads easily.
Also my pub folder is set to 777. And Doteasy's server is Linux.
What are your thoughts?
Caffy

My thoughts? Hmm. At least we know now where the problem lies. But am horror-struck at the mere suggestion of having to re-install my shopping cart. I can *download* it no worries. I can *upload* it no worries. But something tells me there's going to be a lot more to it than that... <bites fingernails and breaks into a cold sweat, starts having nightmares...>
