    Default Adding weight attribute

I have the Zen Cart book/manual/guide and have looked through this to try to understand the attributes. I've also looked through the forums.

I have 9 products currently available at 1 weight. I would like to add a second option. I have added the Option Name (size) and values (5 pound box, 10 pound box) and linked that to one of the products.

I am not sure if this is an appropriate use of the product attributes. At any rate, I'm more concerned with the product display.

Rather than having a price showing, and then in my dropdown having the weight and price difference displayed, ie
    5 pound box (-$7)(-9lbs)
    10 pound box

I would prefer to have the actual price for each item ie
    5 pound box ($36)
    10 pound box ($43)

Is this possible? Or would it be better just to create 9 new products, all at the 5 pound weight?

    Default Re: Adding weight attribute

You could mark the Product as Priced by Attribute and set the Product Price to 0 and the Product Weight to 0 ...

Then set your attributes with the price and weight ... without the price prefix or weight prefix ...

If you don't want the weight to show on the Attributes, go to the Catalog ... Product Type ... and click on the EDIT LAYOUT button and turn off the Attribute Weight:
    Show Attribute Weight
Display Attribute Weight on Product Info 0= off 1= on
