10 sites - one inventory?

Is it possible to have 10, (or any number), of zen sites that draw from the same products/inventory and have the inventory update across all sites?

Example: 10 sites each listing the same 10 identical widgets (10 total widgets available). If a customer buys one widget on one of the sites, this would decrease the total inventory of widgets to 9. Can the inventory then be updated automatically across all 10 sites to show that only 9 remain?

If this isn't possible.....any recommendations on a platform that would do this? Quickbooks integration would also be needed.

There is a 3rd party multi-Site module that some have used with success while others have had problems with...the author does not appear to be involved.

There is also a 3rd party Quickbooks module
