Correction: that's ZenCart 1.3.8a
Meantime, I've redirected dns to the original server until I get this squared away. Everything's working fine in that install. It's definitely something with php/apache or files/permissions, because both sets of files were running off the same MySQL db. I've now cloned the db just in case.
The files were manually moved using an external firewire drive from one server to the other, so I suspect something in how php5 handles certain things differently than php4 is at the bottom of this.
