I would like to a offer to say purchase any 10 products for only £17.50.

I have 205 products, is they a way i can make that work within a prodyct or just have to set up a discount and filter it for the particular product type?

EDIT:- the products are split into 7 catagories, can i add a discount for the whole lot or have to be put in every catagory.

Unless the products all have the same price, this is going to be quite difficult to do. Discounts are typically expressed as "percentage off" or "currency units (Pounds Sterling) off". You're going to have to write some code and you're going to have to filter either by category or product id. You can use my Quantity Discounts module as a starting point; get it from Free Software Add Ons at the top of the page.

You will still have to express the discount as "buy 10 items, save $X" where $X is the difference between price * 10 and 17.50.
