Digital Downloads Stopped Working!

Hi, I have a store selling digital downloads.

Today the downloads have stopped working. When a customer completes an order and clicks on the download link all they get is a 0kb file.

- All the digital downloads are still on the server.
- Download Manager shows a green icon next to every download.

I have changed nothing in Zen Cart for months as everything has been working just fine.

Any ideas where I can start looking as I am totally baffled by this?

I don't know why the downloads would suddenly stop working, other than some change on your host's servers, but you might take a look at this thread:

This was the setting I needed to change:

Admin->Configuration->Attribute Settings:
Download by Redirect = false

I have no idea why I needed to change that setting - it has always been set to true.

Strange thing is, I have other Zen Cart stores with the setting set to true and they still work. Though they are on different hosts.

You may wish to check with your hosting provider to see what has changed on your server ...

To suddenly have to change that setting, sounds like something has changed on the server or broken in some manner that should be looked at further to find out specifically what has changed ...

I spoke with my host, and they said nothing has changed. They have always been reliable - but the fact that the problem occurred out of the blue would suggest something on the server had changed.

Doesn't look like I will find out what happened.

If "redirect" is set to false, and "streaming" is set to false, then your customers can easily copy the download links and give them away to their friends for free since you've got no security on your downloads anymore.
