Ok, What am I missing here?

Ok, I downloaded the newest version of ZenCart and am reading through the instructions.

RE: SSL I have searched through the files and do not find the two files mentioned (includes/configure.php or admin/includes/configure.php)

Are they missing, or am I supposed to create these, not just 'find and edit'??

Prior to installation, you'll need to change the names of dist-configure.php in those folders to configure.php and change the permissions.

I realize this is an older thread, but what to do if you've already installed the program? I had no idea the name of this file was changed with recent updates. I had this site worked on a year or so ago and have recently re-installed it and found that while trying to do the SSL options, that I do not have the configure.php file under admin/includes. Instead it's admin/includes/dist-configure.php

Can I just change the file names on the server and local host or is this name change going to affect other files within the cart system?

Yes, it's working. But I still don't see the configure.php file in there.

Why is the file named wrong when someone downloads it is the more appropriate question. Or maybe instructions need to be updated?

Since there are literally thousands of combinations that can be used with an install, the dist-configure.php is a boiler plate included with the install files. It is used (along with the information you provide at installation) to create a configure.php file in the admin/includes and includes/ directories. If either is missing or mis-configured, the admin/cart will not work.
