i tried to install image handler 2.0 on my custom template at offerextreme.co.cc
but all it did was mess up it suppose to look all nice and cool like this office-furniture-direct.co.uk
can anyone tell me what i have done wrong?

The first image isn't from Image Handler. It's the result of one of the Lightbox mods. I rather think that you installed the wrong mod.
