Default Adding more mysql users to avoid query limit by host?

    Hello,
Using 1.3.8a version through IPower hosting with mysql 5.0

I am finding we are running into issues with the website slowing down. Upon investigating, I learned that IPower have limits to mysql queries per user.

The maximum number of database queries per user is 75,000 per hour.

I asked if creating multiple users for different functions would work, and they said yes.

Has anyone broken down the admin from the public with two different users to access mysql, or know how to?

    If you look here...

...you'll find a post by DrByte detailing how to use multiple MySQL users with Zen Cart.

    Regards,
    Christian.

I have run across the same issue where my host imposed the 75,000 queries per hour and my store was flat shut down. Could not access the store or my Zen admin. Continued to get the db error of exceeding the query limit. Funny thing is this host OFFERS Zencart as an installable ecommerce option in their cpanel.

I implemented Dr. Byte's fix noted in this thread and it worked perfectly. One thing to note is Dr. Byte mentions making the fix only to the includes/configure.php file. You also have to apply the same fix to the admin/includes/configure.php file, as well, to be able to access your admin.

So far it's working great and my store is back online...
