Copy sub catagory to sub catagory

Hi,

I have 135 products in Catagory A, Sub catagory A

Is they a way i can copy them products into Catagory B, Sub catagory A

I can access the SQL if it is needed.

Are you trying to Copy them as Duplicate Products or Linked Products or are you trying to Move them?

Catagory A is all a4 posters, Catagory B is all the same pictures but on postcards, and rather than have to input them all again i just want to duplicate them into catagory b and just edit the price.

I am afraid that the only thing built into Zen Cart is a mass Copy as Linked Products ...

There isn't something built in for a mass Copy of Duplicate Products ...

You could probably look at the Copy as Duplicate Product code and build a new copy method to copy a Category of Products ...

Ok ty, at the worse ill have to spend some hours manually copying each product, was just curious if they was an easy(well easyish) way of doing it using the SQL database maybe.

I've got almost the exact same situation here.

I've entered products into an 'All' subcategory, so that people can 'browse' everything in a main category.

But, I also want these products to show up in additional subcategories, according the type of product.

I can manually copy all of the products into their proper 'type subcategories', or I can link them.

Is there any advantage of one method over the other (other than being able to do a 'bunch' of products at a time, if I link them)?

I think I've figured out that, in my case, it's best to use Linked products.

However, I would like to be able to link a group of products, in one category, to another category, without having to do it one product at a time (too time consuming).

For example, I have products a,b,c,d, and e in category 1. I would like to link product a, b, and c to category 2, and products d and e to category 3.

Is there a way to do this?

You might look at the Multiple Categories Link Manager that is at the bottom of the right panel when you click C for Copy on a Product ...

There are also options at the bottom of the Multiple Categories Link Manager to Link all Products from a Category to another Category ... that might help you as well ...

I don't want to link all products from the 'main' category to another category - I want to link certain products from the 'main' category to a subcategory, and then other certain products from the 'main' category to another subcategory. I need to be able to select multiple products, from the list of products in the 'main' category, and then link them to a specific cateogory.

The Multiple Categories Link Manager allows for one product to be Linked to multiple Categories.

I need just the opposite - Multiple products need to be Linked to a single Category.

Any takers?
