Help me - can't log back into account

Hey Guys,

Understandably I've posted this on another thread but I'm desperate to get this fixed, otherwise I'm in trouble.

I've upgraded a site to 1.3.8 and I'm having trouble logging in as a customer.

Basically, I create an account - fine.

I try to log back into that account - not fine.

I get the Email not found error. The same appears when I try to retrieve the password.

I can even create the same account again without any error. It doesn't look for the email already in use!

I've checked:

The database reference in the config files (otherwise, how would I be able to create multiple accounts!!?)

The error logging utility which provides nothing at all.

The only issue that could be causing this would be the fact that I've been modifying the audience.php file.

Could this be a PHP error? The same site works fine on my local machine (php5) but not on the server (php 4).

I'm panicking! Please help me!!

Just an update, I use Fast & Easy Checkout. Could that be a problem?

Maybe, but unlikely, since many shops running on PHP 5 are just fine.

Possibly. Have you tried disabling it?


Have you tried a fresh comparison between ALL the files on your server vs ALL the files on your local?

Have you checked your server database to see whether the user account was saved properly ?

Thanks for the replies.

I've uploaded the entire local site to a different folder on the server + the database. The login error goes away, so that rules out PHP errors and Fast & Easy Checkout.

I point the newly uploaded files to the old database and the login error comes back. That rules out anything file based.

A couple of weeks ago, I spent some time matching the configuration from their old site on their new one, so I'm guessing I could have changed something in the admin which might spark this error!

Besides that, I have absolutely no idea what could be causing it. I did also modify the query builder table so the 'Send email' function loaded (it was loading thousands of customers and stalling the site).

Thanks again for your help. I've calmed down a lot now (although I have to go into work early tomorrow morning to make the changes live )

Got in early today and no luck at all. I am so stumped. I have absolutely and utterly no idea why this is happening, it doesn't make sense.

I must have made a stupid mistake somewhere, I just can't work out where.

I'm going nuts.

YES YES YES YES SORTED IT!

For one reason or another, the COWOA_account default values were at NULL, not 0/1 as was suggested by the login page header.php

Lord knows how I missed that.

I feel like the weight of the world has just been lifted from on top of me.

It must be something to do with FEC, as I'm sure that field is utilized by that module.
