temporarily disable my store?

I want to temporarily switch the zen cart off, so that the store is not available to use. How do I do this?

Zen Cart 1.3.8a
Database Patch Level: 1.3.8

go to configuration, website maintenance, on the first line (Down for Maintenance: ON/OFF) change 'false' to 'true',
