how to set up stock quantity?

hi, i am wondering how to set up stock quantity,like how can i set up there are 10 in stock, when customers consume over 10, the items will display out of order or just disappear.

You'd set the quantity on hand in the product setup page, and the other settings are in Admin - Configuration - Stock

thanks for reply. but when i tested it even with 0 quantity, i was still able to buy with no problem

And what is your setting in Admin - Configuration - Stock - Allow Checkout ?
