Problem with Ultimate SEO URLs

Hi,

I used the contribution SEO URLs contribution, it perfectly creates the clean urls but path of the link changes. On clicking on the category link I found the error page - No page Found.

From where to set the urls? Can I also customize the url?

Which SEO addon have you installed? There should be a specific support thread for the addon available.

I am not able to understand this thread or what I am missing, I have placed .htaccess file on root level and also in it I have mentioned / for the Rewrite base. I am not able to understand where I am doing wrong

When I click on the categories, the page not found occurs.

Does I need to change/customize any of seo file

Search Engines are quite capable of reading, indexing and presenting zencart page results WITHOUT any of these "SEO" add-ons.

Why are you bothering with it?

Far more important would be Andrew Berezin's SITEMAPS module, which can (and does) help with SEO.

That would presume you have Zen Cart installed in your root dir. - not in a sub-directory. Is that correct?

Don't worry, Google can crawl such dynamic links now so no need to get them converted for SEO friendly URLs using any such tool/plugin. The main purpose of "SEO" URLs nowadays is to make them pretty for humans:)

I also have this issue - installed the latest version of the Ultimate SEO URL's module (2.109) on top of the latest release of Zen Cart (1.3.9h) and all links produce a 404 error.

Problem is, there's been a lot of talk about editing the .htaccess file in the root folder of the cart installation (ie. in my case - with it being under a subdomain (http://designing.theweare.net) - the "root" would be the folder named designing), except in my installation there is no .htaccess in the root directory. There are a number of others inside subfolders - there's even one called htaccess_for_page_not_found_redirects.htaccess which I find particularly amusing - do I move one of the existing files to the cart's root directory? Do I simply edit one of the existing ones and leave it where it is (if so, which one/s)? Or do I just create a blank .htaccess file and add the rewrite rules to it?
