Default Where Is The "Add To Cart" Button

My products requires users to go through 2-3 levels of selections to find the right product. So I wrote the code let them do that. Now I figure also I need is an "Add To Cart" button for selecting the product. However I'm a liitle bit stunned to find out I can't do it that simply. It appears I need to follow the proecudre to set up products in certain way. My question now is if I can do it my way. If I can, what is the target address. Also let me know if any tweaks I can do to make it work in my situation. I do understand I have a learning curve that I need to identify what it is. Thanks for the help in advance.

There is no way anybody can answer that without seeing what you have now. You (and we) will be better off if you pick one thread and keep the conversation about how to make your site work in that thread - preferably a thread which already has some background info, like this one.
