<br /><font face="verdana" size="2"><b>Description:</b> This 15 hour EMS Continuing Education program presents tactics that EMS Professionals can use during high risk situations – those involving guns and knives. Topics discussed will include providing care under fire; assessments in sensory overload/deprived environments; bleeding control including the use of tourniquets and hemostatic agents; and K-9 medicine considerations.

<br /><b>Instructor:</b> Ian McDevitt, NREMT-P
<br />Ian is a Tactical Paramedic with 20 years experience and the author of “Tactical Medicine.” He is a former officer in the US Army Reserves, Airborne and has worked as an Infantry Paramedic with three combat/remote medic tours in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Central America. Ian has worked as a Tactical Paramedic for the Willimantic Police Department. He is an internationally recognized, authority on Tactical Medicine and has served as an advisor to Special Forces and Police in 2 countries.
