issues with customized icons not displaying properly

i'm currently customizing the theme and layout design of a storefront using zen cart.

I've created some basic quick icons to go with the cart, however, i'm having some issues with them, not displaying properly. The icons currently displaying are the the ones that came with the template when it was first installed. They do look though distorted as if they were stretched. thats because the new icons are slightly bigger.

I've tried everything i can think of, but i dont' know what else could be the issue.

i do however have the new customized icons on the template_default folder. I accidentally placed them in there. But they are also on the classic theme folder(i'm customizing the classic theme) and i overwrote the old icons with the new ones.

Can anything think of helping me?

I forgot to mention that this happens only in IE not sure if its only my version (8). But i haven't seen the issue in firefox, safari, or chrome.

Not sure if its my computer or not, but I've tested it on several computers and so far all have the issue with IE
