Blank Browser Blues

hi there folks-

zencart is really betraying me at the moment, as i have done a from-the-server installation, connected it to paypal, done startup with my client, who has entered twenty or so products in about 5 categories, and now, for some reason, without my having tampered with any of the server files, i am able to add a category & a product in that category, but when i attempt to view it by clicking on it in the categories menu, there is the infamous blank screen.

again, i can add a new category, add the product, but when i go to the storefront and select the category in the left menu, the browser window goes blank.

everything else is working though, making it all the more mysterious, but keeping me hopeful. i am trying to get my poor client going, and am 99.44% there, but have hit this snag.

addendum: the product can be viewed by selecting 'new products', so its there, just inaccessible in the normal run of products. thanks again

Check the contents of that category and product. Are there any single quotes in the name or description?

I looked, and there aren't any single quotes in the description of the category or the product. I looked in the Admin, but not by digging around in the server files themselves....

In the admin is fine.

Since all the other categories seem to be working properly, there is probably something in that category that's throwing things off. There's a rather lengthy thread about blank pages which you might take a look at for more ideas on what to look for.

I tried displaying all products and found the widget in there. The product itself works perfectly, but the category doesn't.
