edit orders mod - operations

Hi to anyone who has used the Edit Orders mod (author: Scott Turner). Looks like what I need but am not sure I've got it installed correctly. I've installed Edit Orders 1.53 on zen cart 1.3.8 in www.iprezence.com/zencart (work in progress) and I'm doing some testing. There is one free product in the T-shirt/Sweatshirt cateory. When I place the order and then go to the Admin>Customer>Orders page and click on edit for the order, there are no editable features on the order page that opens. For example, I thought it would allow me to edit the quantity or shipping address. Is this because the product is free? What should I expect?

No. You do not have it installed correctly. Make sure you've made the correct changes to orders.php as per the installation instructions. This is where your problem lies. It sounds like the edit link is still sending you to the original ZC edit page.

FYI -- I did not write this mod. I updated it from v1 to v2 by adding features and fixing bugs.

Scott - thanks for your reply. I've modified the orders.php file and have the extra_configures, functions and languages folders directly under /admin/includes on the server. I still see the language and currency. Have I got the folders & files in the right place? And, to avoid overwriting them, should I have them in a custom folder - eg. /admin/includes/custom/extra_configures etc.?? How about the edit_orders.php file in /admin - will it get overwritten or removed when ZC is updated? I haven't updated a cart so don't know exactly what might happen.
