Product Info Popup Windows

Every time I create a new category rather than it giving me the layout of the main products page where when I look at the source code is "indexBody" for the body ID it gives me a product pop up window page which under the body tag is "productinfoBody". So how do I create a new category that is not a pop up window function but rather an actual products page.

I'm confused... are you talking about zencart here? The behaviour you describe (as far as I can understand what you are saying) does not sound like zencart.

What you describe does not sound like standard behavior. There should be no popups except for larger images. Post a link to your site so we can see how this is acting.

cart.justspice.org is my cart site. When you go to Spices blends and rubs it is starting to shape up how I want it to look, however when you go to Gifts it is basically the screen that you would get if you would click on a product from my "spices blends rubs" page. In other words the more info page for that particular product. Everytime I create a new category it is based on this more info product page as opposed to a product list page. Does that make more sense?

You (or someone) has been carving up the PHP files. Just what was done is impossible to tell. Your header becomes your footer, your centre column drifts about...

... something very wrong with your CUSTOM template.

Switch back to CLASSIC template to see if the layouts go back to normal. If normality returns, start developing your CUSTOM template from scratch and DON'T hack the core code.

Actually I'm just now playing with it right now so it is moving around I'm creating divs and redoing some of that code. I can switch that back easy enough. The problem is when I create a new category it's not creating a product category page like the spices blends rubs it's creating a page like the "more product info" shouldn't it create a page that I can add products too?

Zencart does not work on flat HTML. It works using php which assembles a page, gathering the components from a wide variety of places.

I have no idea how skilled you are at php or html, so I don't know what level of advice to give you, but one look at your site right now suggests you are carving up the php and embedding bits of it into hard-coded html.

You are opening a sea of problems using this method (but if you perfect it, you may well be offered a job at TemplateMonster )

Really disappointed in the help here. Searching and reading for the last hour to try and find something similar to my issue I found an entry that was the same thing as what I was talking about on my page and just clicking through my site should have been easily visible to you. It said to go in and change this Admin->Configuration->Layout Settings->Skip 1-prod Categories ... turn this off. That worked. Now things are coming together. Not doing anything fancy but changing my CSS and some of the common php templates. Just need some simple questions answered once in a while to set me on the right path.

I think you got some good advise based on your questions and short of spending HOURS tracing EVRYTHING you did I think that what was posted was appropriate....

Be Patient and do your mods excersing caution and do then one bit at a time so you can EASILY undo and restore....
