Reconsideration request are for penalized sites, not poor rank. They will do nothing.

However, logging in to Google webmaster tools you can remove the /-c-.html page and also block it in your robots.txt

Thanks for all your help. I have now blocked the dodgy homepage.

    GREAT NEWS.

Google has found me and I seem to be back to the same place I was with the old site. I like to think it was my request for reconsideration, but probably not!!!

    Thanks

Don't underestimate the "integrity" of search engines...

If your site is "worthy" of good SERPS, you will get them.

The SE's also appreciate that site owners are constantly improving their sites, and that in many cases, people apply new technologies that sometimes radically alter the structures of the site.

Bottom line is simple. If the CONTENT of your site is valuable, relevant and interesting - and is seen to be so by others - your site will enjoy a high ranking in the search engines IF you have made the process of analysing and indexing your site EFFICIENT for the SE's to undertake.
