Default Status Codes: what do visitors see?

In my site statistics I found the following status codes:
    200 OK
304 Not modified since last retrieval
    404 Document not found
    500 Internal server error
    503 Service temporarily unavailable

    206 Partial content
    301 Document moved permanently
    302 Document found elsewhere
    400 Bad request
    401 Authentication required
    403 Access forbidden
    405 Method not allowed
    416 Requested range not valid

If I understand correctly, 200 means that the site was retrieved successfully. 304 means that the site was retrieved from the user's cache.

I have 404 redirected to the appropriate "page not found" Zen cart page.
I have 500 and 503 redirected to nddbc.html (which I customized to look like my template)

What about the rest of the above status codes? How does Zen Cart behave when they are generated?

    Thank you!

Zen Cart has nothing to do with any of those codes. It's up to your webserver's configuration how it responds to the situation.

If you've configured specific behaviors for certain codes via your .htaccess or via your hosting control panel, then you can customize the destination when such an error occurs.
Otherwise, the customer sees whatever your server decides to send them ... often a white page with the error number and its name as you've quoted them.

Thank you for replying to all my posts today DrByte!

    Isn't 401 for example a failed login?

And isn't 302 just an automatic redirect? I seem to be getting a lot of 302s.

A 302 is likely a result of a redirect rule in your .htaccess ... again, handled by how you've configured your server.
