shipping address selection via pulldown?

Hi,

I am new to the world that is zen-cart. I have what I'd say is a novice level of understanding for coding.

Anyway, I'm looking for a way for a customer to choose with greater ease, the address of the goods they are purchasing.

My problem arises from the fact, that the main customer of my store is essentially an organisation that pays for the goods on behalf of their clients, and the goods get shipped straight from me to their client.

So each time they come into my site and login in, and purchase a good, at checkout they have to choose, from the address book, which customer the goods are to be sent to. The standard way the address book is displayed, is a table sorted non alphabetically. I would prefer a alphabetically listed drop down for them to select from, or a table sorted alphabetically would suffice.

However,m I'm struggling to find the correct file to change. Any help would be great

I am looking for something similar as my client would like us to offer the buyer the option to select one of the office addresses to have their goods delivered to. So either a drop down box to select the delivery address or an option button selection would work. Any ideas?

This is exactly what I require as well for a client.

You can change the number of addresses allowed per customer in admin > configuration > maximum values and you could then pre-populate all the addresses manually (may be quicker to do it directly in the database).

When the customer gets to the Delivery page (Step 1), they'll have the option to change the address - and they will have all the available ones displayed on the next page (and can add new ones).

To have them as dropdown list, whether on the Step1 or the select address page, will require additional coding.
