Default Two sites, one credit card processor

I'd like to take one of my popular categories and make a site out of it. I already asked my card processor and they said the new site would incur new fees like the main one (which is not worth it for me). I've read a number of posts about doing this with PayPal, but I already have a card processor and PP would also cost extra per month.

So, at the point of Checkout on the new site, would there be a way to re-direct customers to my main one at the point of paying? I guess this would have to be at the Shopping Cart page.

And this wouldn't be confusing to customers because the site names would be similar, they'd look alike, I'd explain the re-direct and I'm already known for the items involved.

    Cheers,

    Robbie

You wouldn't be able to do a re-direct that way, I don't think.

It may be that you need a different processor. Many, including authorize.net and Paypal Payments Pro allow multiple stores to use one account. The only downside is both stores would show up under the same name on the customer's CC statement, but you can explain that during checkout.

You could also try using just Paypal Express on the new site. You'd only pay transaction charges that way, without a monthly minimum.

The thing about PPE and PP in general is that I can't control the Checkout info (and their 2.9% eventually totals a lot more than the 2.1ish I pay). I spoke to someone else at my card processor, Chase Paymentech, and now I'm told the new fee would be half the regular one so that gives me what to consider.
