What URL do I apply the SSL certificate too?

Hello fellow Zenners ,

I'm going to apply for paypal pro for the site and have found out from paypal that I do need an SSL certificate. My hosting company (UK2) supplies them free of charge with my hosting package.

My questions is this:

Do I just apply the SSL certificate to the whole site?
OR
Is their a specified URL for the checkout stage that I should apply the SSL to?

The advice I have received so far suggests that I should just apply the SSL to the whole site??... but this seems a unnecessary to me, also I have read that doing this can result in duplicate entry penalties on google.

Although I have previously read that guide and not managed to find an answer to my perticular quiestion...

Or is that the answer... you simply apply the SSL cert to the whole site?

Change includes/configure.php to:
