Footer and Shipping estimator disappears

There seems to be something wrong with my footer and shipping estimator. I have installed the Google Checkout and Inventory by attributes module into Zen Cart. The problem that seems to arise is in my shopping cart.

With google checkout, there is no need for a shipping module or for the customer to create an account through Zen Cart/my site. However, I noticed a problem with both in my shopping cart

1) As a browsing user (customers not signed in with a customer account to my website) customers are able to place items in their shopping cart and the page shows up just fine.

1 Problem) IF a customer were to create an account (my test account) their shopping car will not display anything under the checkout buttons (Shipping estimator, Available shipping methods box, footer)

2) With the Flat Rate shipping module disabled, the shopping cart also shows up just fine. The module is disabled because there is no need for it since Google Checkout takes care of this.

2 Problem) The same problem persists as in "1." However, I would like the module enabled so that it would display shipping prices (as an FYI) for our customers. I would rather not take out the "Available shipping methods" box from my shopping cart since it adds a little aesthetics to the page

I'm almost certain that it has to do something with the Google Checkout module but cannot seem to find how to fix the problem. Please, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys! I look forward to hearing from you!

To follow up, the problem persist when ANY shipping module is installed/enabled through admin in zencart.

also, to follow up again, the problem only persists when the shipping estimator module is displayed as a LISTING. When it's displayed as a BUTTON, the footer appears fine and the new window pop up as well.
