    Default Anyone using godaddy?

Okay so I downloaded my site and changed the store all around and redid my database and then went to upload it. It times out...so I sent godaddy a error ticket...this is their respone.

"Unfortunately we cannot support a database backup from another system for a GoDaddy Hosting Application. We suggest referring to the Zencart support forums or your preferred search engine for other users who may have experienced the same issue. We apologize for any inconvenience regarding this issue."

Great now I got at least two weeks of changes that I cant upload. I think its time for a new host. It took them two days to send that response. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know. Thanks

Answer: Find a decent webhost, of which GoDaddy is not.

    a couple of questions.....
    1. where did you download your website from?
    2. are you trying to change your servers?
    3. how are you uploading? (from godaddy control panel or another program)

Goddady does support Zencart when you install it from your hosting panel go to Hosting Connection where there are all kinds of applications that are free. Chose Zencart and it will install ITSELF.
then all you need to do is upload only the files you edited from your download.

This changes nothing.... GoDaddy hasn't the umph to import his database. They are slow, overloaded and did I mention slow?

that very well maybe true however if he already purchased the hosting then I was trying to help work around his issue.
Not to mention you can get as much Ump as you need depending on his hosting plan. Currently I have 3 instances of ZC on one thier hosting plans and about to install another.
Perhaps you can give him a recommendation for a better host????

E-commerce is (or should be) taken seriously - unless you're just doing it for a hobby from your garden shed.

GoDaddy is absolutely fine for the hobbyists, who don't care (or mind) if their installations fall over, or if they experience countless hassles, downtime, operational inadequacy, functional inefficiency, etc.

People who intend to run a business owe it to themselves AND their customers, to run a secure, reliable and robust webshop - and this starts with using proper hosting.

As with everything out there, CHEAP usually means NASTY - so the best initial benchmark for reliability is price.

Zencart is very reliable software, but it is only as strong as its weakest link.
