oz post shipping module help

Hi Rod, I am trying t use magenticones quickbooks integration for our accounting but am hitting my head against a wall and have bruises showing!

The issue

Aussie Post has gst included in the total price, which we have to quote customers, it sits outside of where zen cart does pre and post gst calculations, so quickbooks is importing it as pre gst and adding another 10%.

Is there anything we can do, happy to email some screen shots of zencart invoice and QB so you can see. QB sees postage cahrges as another item, then calculates everything together for gst purposes.

Only for posting within Australia. Overseas parcels are GST free

I really have no idea what "it sits outside of where zen cart does pre and post gst calculations" means.

so quickbooks is importing it as pre gst and adding another 10%.

I don't know - As I said, I'm not sure what you are actually asking for or wanting to do.

QB sees postage cahrges as another item,

So does zencart.

then calculates everything together for gst purposes.

And zencart calculates gst based on the summing of individual items.

The net result is always going to be the same regardless of whether GST is calculated based on the sum of the items (inc postage) or whether the GST is first added and then summed.

If QB is adding GST to charges with GST already included then surely this is an issue you need to solve with QB rather then zencart or the postage module? On the other hand, if you are trying to provide QB the shipping data pre-GST prices then I'd be starting to wonder how zencart could provide a GST inclusive amount to your customers and at the same time provide non GST prices to an external system. Zencart doesn't store these values seperately, you can have or or the other, not both at the same time.

Anyway, there is a good chance that I'm still misunderstanding what you are trying to tell me especially in regards to "Iit sits outside of where zen cart does pre and post gst calculations",

Hi Rod,

Just installed this Mod on one of my latest websites Zen-cart version 1.3.9a.
It seems to be working fine for now!
The fix I did a few postings earlier, regarding the (missing icon), didn't seem to work in 1.3.9a, It did however require a creation of a couple of new folders in admin for it to find the icon, so it's showing now!

How do I remove the (Dims: 11x11x11) and (Boxes:) from the Shopping Cart total?

I've set the Shopping Cart Total to 3 in admin which now hides the weight!

Have you set the ozpost 'tax class' to indicate that this is subject to GST?

It may be a bit counter intuitive, but enabling this setting doesn't *add* GST to the amounts returned by the servers - Instead, what it does is *subtract* the GST amounts (so that zencart can re-add them without doubling up).

ozpost V1.0.2 (and above) doesn't, and isn't supposed to be using any icons in the *admin* section of the cart. However there is/was a broken link for one of them that didn't get removed as it was supposed to. This was fixed in later updates available via this forum.

The fact that you (and a couple of others) have proceeded to 'fix' the broken link that shouldn't exist in the first place, is all very well but it is almost certainly going to lead to the exact same problem(s) that caused me to remove them in the first place. You are better off putting up with the broken link. (or use one of the upgraded modules that removes the link rather than 'fixing' it). What you have done is a 'bad thing'.

Delete the tpl_modules_shipping_estimator.php file that came with the ozpost distribution file (it should be in your overrides directory). If you didn't use the overides then you'll need to replace this file with an original copy from the zencart distribution files. [/quote]

GST was selected in the shipping module, I am going to see what happens if I deselect it!

Sorry about that, should have known better Not to do that
I tried other ozpost version to fix the broken link and none of them seem to work!
Again, it worked on my earler zen-cart version, but not 1.3.9a.

Here's what I did to remove the annoying no show icon from admin/shipping module, Please tell me if that was a correct method!
I removed the whole of line 78 from the Includes/Modules/Shipping/ozpost.php, which was ....$this->logo = $template->get_template_dir('ozpost_logo.jpg', '','' ,'images/icons'). '/ozpost_logo.jpg';.....

That seemed to fix the problem, and replace the icon which wasn't showing with just the Alt/title :)

As for the Dim: & Boxes, I removed the CUSTOM/tpl_modules_shipping_estimator.php, but the default one doesn't align the state and other text correctly when address has not been chosen!
I would rather stick with your tpl_modules_shipping_estimator.php, can you just show me what I need to take out to remove the Dim: and Boxes: please Rod?

Hi Rod Just wondering if you can help me out on this subject as well I had oz post installed on my previous zen cart 1.38a and it worked fine I have now upgraded to 1.39 and my oz post module wont charge a rate in the check out and only says 2 day post with a $0.00 no matter what you select as you post option my site is www.uniqueliving.com.au/zencart hope you might be able to point me in the right direction
