Default Zen GoDaddy Set up???? Help

    Hi all,
First Post, so it might not be in the right place or something already covered.... but oh well.
I have both domain and hosting through GoDaddy (before I joined this forum which seem to be mostly against thier hosting). I have only started my web design venture yesterday...

I am new to the website thing, so please help, without all the technical mumbo jumbo talk
I have successfully uploaded Zen Cart 1.3.8a.1, and can view it through my website. The only thing is I can not enter the 'admin' of Zen cart....
I re installed Zen Cart 3 times so far, thinking I did not write down the correct PW Admin name and so on....
It seems I cant even email these details to myself, as Zen will not recognise my email address!
    What do I do???/
I know that you can go and change some files somewhere, but too scared to touch it, and dont know at this stage how to change it.... So how can I get into admin friends???

any help and step by steps would be great

Check if you can signup as a customer, login with the email/password and order sth from your store. If not there might be a database problem. But there should be an error message during the installation.

Login to the GoDaddy admin panel and use myPhpAdmin to check if the database has a record with your admin information.

    monmon,

before you invest any more time in this - change hosts!
I just helped a client recover his site which was down all weekend on goDaddy (and now loads in a screaming 35 seconds!)

Tech support is non-existant there (or they provide answers that are way off base!)

Do you have any recommendations for a host company for a fairly low traffic Zen-Cartted site? (It will be using a shared Windows web server with one SQL Server db.)

I would suggest that since your moving anyway,
unless you absolutly have to have a windows server, that you switch to a linux server.....

Thanks guys... Since I have already paid for a year I might as well try to use them as a host...
I have entered What I thought top be the admin name and password into the 'configeration' section. Am I wrong?
What terms would be used to identify the zen login details when uploading with GoDaddy? Surely I have made a wrong step in installing for Zen to recognise me?

Any help would be great ( I have reinstalled 4 times now)

Cut your losses (which aren't that high). Get away from GoDaddy or you will be spending your life on this forum and puzzling over problems no one wants to help you solve... (instead of running your business and focusing on SELLING STUFF and making a PROFIT).

I'm sure if you talk to Merlinpa1969 he'll get a zencart site running on his systems in a matter of hours... And he probably knows more about zencart than 99% of people on this forum - so you will be in the SAFE hands of an expert, leaving you to focus on what matters - running your business, pleasing your customers and making a PROFIT

Thanks for your help.. I changed hosts... but dad just tagged it onto one of his packages or something Good old Dad....
Once he changesd hosts for me i worked out that even with the admin login, I had to use 'caps' key instead of 'shift' hey to log in... could the issue have been so easy before i shifted.. I am not too sure??? oh well all done :)... now to bombard you with other Qs.....
