Processing Payment Slow and Completing

Hello. I am using First Data as my merchant/processor and setup everything through the payment module. I am using Hostmonster, which is a Zen Cart certified host.

I'm testing the payment processing now and run into a problem. When I complete the checkout process it hangs up for awhile, then it brings me back to step 2 in the payment process. No error message.

I checked the curltest and the Data Validation was "Good".

Since I wasnt getting any error messages I set the debug mode to Failure Alerts Only within the Linkpoint/YourPay API settings and received the following error:

2006 MySQL server has gone away
in:
[select customers_email_format from zen_customers where customers_email_address= '[email protected]']
2006 MySQL server has gone away

[select count(*) as total from zen_sessions where sesskey = 'eafe689ff3dcda5c7bc316d4b21e6a79']

Also, I dont have an SSL cert installed yet. I'm getting around to it. Is an SSL required and would it have anything to do with the following error?

I believe the problem to this is the port 1129 needs to be opened. I will repost after I speak with hosting company.

Opening up port 1129 on the hosting server solved this issue.
