Host is, ahem, GoDaddy.com
Very weird. Both stores on same host, same domain. Store #1 does not have any problem, although VERY rarely it will take too long for the browser to get the page and only a partial page will appear (usually just the top row and nothing below it) or even more rarely a page saying the server has a problem (umm, GoDaddy).
But I have a big time related issue with store #2. About 90 seconds must elapse since the last time the browser asked for any page or the page it gets will only be the top row and nothing else. But wait that 90 seconds and, if someone else didn't try to get a page before the time is up, the page WILL appear in its entirety.
I thought it was maybe my custom template. But switching to the default template (this is a new install of #2) still exhibits the same time related issue. I'm baffled, entirely. #2 has only 1/3rd of the inventory (1k items) that #1 does (3k items). Each store has all its pictures in the root of its own {store}/images/vendor folder. Any ideas why this timing related issue exists for store #2? Outside of the template, both stores are identical except for the stocked items.
There is one difference, though. Only some items in store #1 are on special. Because I wanted all items in #2 to indicate a markdown savings with a strikeout, 100% of the products in store #2 are specials. So I have a bit over 1k products, each of them on special. I'd truly hate to have to change that, so ... anyone have anything else to suggest that might be the cause of the timing related issue?
