If I understand the question, you would set Admin - Configuration - Customer Details - Customer Approval Status to 1

I'm having some trouble with this too...I want the prices to show AND the "add to cart" option available. When users go to checkout, that's when they must "authorize"/sign up to buy...

I can either get the prices only and the contact us or the must login to see prices...and I've tried all the above options, 0 thru 3. Please help? Maybe there's another place I'm supposed to check the cart option or ...?

That's normal Zencart behavior. Visitors can shop and add stuff to their cart, but must log in or create an account to check out. Is that what you want?

Well, I cannot get the prices to show up AND the option to "Add to cart" at the same time. It should be possible, but I cannot figure it out?!

Hi all, I would like to explain what I want.
I have set up in Config - Customers - Auth. status to 0.
I need it to show some prices some not(only for authorized). But I need set up auth. status for all new customers to NON Authorized (red button in admin-customers) - to approve them to see what I want EVEN Auth. status is set to 0. CAN Anybody help with that default auth. status?

    Thanks for all ideas
    Mike

You need to spell this out a little clearer ...

1 I come in as a visitor and am not logged in, what should I see? Can I add to cart?

2 I come in as a visitor and login, but I am not Authorized, what should I see? Can I add to cart?

3 I come in as a visitor and login, and I am Authorized, I am assuming now I should see everything and be able to buy ...

red flag Re: HOW to set up NOT authorized for new customers?

Hi, you come as not logged visitor, you create your new account as new user (no matter what you see) I need you to be as not autorized user and I need 0 in config-customers-auth status. Because in this case all new are authorized. That is my problem.
I need this for special purpose program to manage categories visibility indipendently.
    Thank you very much.

Maybe it would help if you could explain why are you wanting to use Authorization if you want the customer to be immediately authorized when they create an account?

    You say:
I need you to be as not autorized user and I need 0 in config-customers-auth status.
How can you be a "NOT authorized" ... if you are set to 0 which is an "authorized" customer?
