Default Can I run a webserver in window 7 64-bit with apache + php + mysql?

    hi,

Following this link, I am able to setup apache + php + mysql in window 7 home premium (64 bit) environment.

During first time installation of zencart1.3.8a using IE8, I am able to proceed from "Welcome" screen to "License" screen only.

The "Prerequsites" screen always failed to show up but redirect me to "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage". If try many times, I may be able see a flash of the "Prerequisites" screen before redirect me again to the error page.

Is there anyone able to install zen-cart on 64 bit window environment with success? Been trying whole day without success..

    hi kobra,

    Thanks for replying.

I follows this link exactly and am using "PHP Version 5.2.5 (x64)".

So, do you mean that some php function used in zen-cart may not be compatible with this version?

    Thanks for the information.

I google the web. It seems like there is no stable php 64 bit sdk release. And if there is (such as the one I used), it is not stable.

It will be kind of sad news to the php community if this keeps on as OS is moving towards 64 bit.

As I am upgrading my OS to 64bit, I will have no choice but to clone a virtual pc so I can continue my ecommerce work using zen-cart.

Will be glad if anyone out there is able to get zen-cart working in 64 bit and share his/her solution.

Keep in mind: You're not going to run your live store from your standalone Windows PC ... so ... maybe it's not such a big deal to use something that already works such as the 32-bit XAMPP or WAMPserver packages.

Yes and no. Though I agree that my live site is running in 32 bit, but in my newly purchased laptop (where I will do my zen-cart testing before updating to live site), it comes with OEM 64bit window 7 installed. And I don't intend to downgrade it just for the sake of eCommerce work.

After one day of work, this is what I will like to share:
    - vmware server installed and work perfect in window 7 (64bit).
    - create a new virtual pc (XP SP2) and successfully installed zen-cart.

Now, I am able to maintain my 64 bit window and concurrently work on zen-cart in my single laptop.
