Unable to update any admin configuration options since changing servers

I just moved my website from a different server, everything is working fine the front end and back end, however when I try updating anything under the configuration tab it doesn't get updated. e.g. My store etc but If i update a product or a order it works... even the tools tab is not getting updated.

I don't get any error as soon as i press update the admin dashboard opens.

Please advice,

Check that the two configure.php files match for the paths and database:
/includes/configure.php
/admin/includes/configure.php

NOTE: check the files on the server ...

Next, check the security patches are installed correctly as this is a symptom of an error on the installation of the security patch ...
