cart selling beyond my inventory.

Hi,
I have my cart set so that once something is sold out it removes the ability for people to buy it.
This is very important for my shop as I sell limited edition items that sometimes the people trying to buy far out number the available items.
A few times now I've had my cart sell into the - numbers. I've had to refund some very disappointed customers and tell them that there order didn't go through.
This seems like a bug to me. Anyone else have this trouble, or a fix for it?
It only seems to happen when the orders are very close together. This time though the last order that went beyond my inventory went through about 20seconds after the item had sold out.

Anyone else experience this? I've had it happen a couple of times and I'm wondering if it is just something that is unavoidable or if there is a glitch going on.

One other thing that I was thinking could contribute to the problem. The person who's order dipped the inventory into the - numbers had other items that were in stock in his shopping cart. I think he probably started checking out at about the same time or even before the person who successfully checked out with the item.

Any hints would be great,

Sorry, there is a not a fix for this at the moment, the problem is the inventory is not reduced until the moment that the checkout has been completed. We hope to have improvements for this in the future.
