Credit Card Number not in Admin OR Database with Offline processing

When a customer fills out the credit card form on my website, the outer digits are not in the Admin area OR in the database (I looked via phpMyAdmin). I can't figure this out.

This is what I see in the admin...

--I've blocked out the CVV number and expiration date.

In the database, the cc_number field is completely empty.

My best guess is that modules/payment/cc.php has been corrupted in some way...I don't know though...I'm definitely not a PHP programmer.

You say "the cc_number field is completely empty" but you also "blocked out the CVV number and expiration date."

Can you see the cvv in the admin or not. If yes, this is only possible when its also in the database. Otherwise you should receive emails with the credit card number of your customer. Is this correct. Its usually not stored in the databse because of security issues.

I get the emails with the interior eight digits. The CVV number IS in the database, as well as the expiration date. Everything works as expected EXCEPT that when in the Orders area trying to retrieve the Credit Card number, there is nothing there. The standard 1234XXXXXXXX4321 isn't there. And, when in phpMyAdmin, the "cc_number" field is completely blank.

Well, I fixed it. I guess over the course of my working on this website I installed a module that screwed up the files in the /includes/modules/payment directory. The way I fixed it was I installed Zen Cart in a /test/ folder on my server, backed up all of the files in my /includes/modules/payment directory, deleted those files from the server, and then put the /test/ folder's payment files in the problematic directory. For now, everything seems to be working fine and so, I'm calling this problem solved. ---Well, I spoke too soon. The Invoice module that I installed is now broken. But that really isn't a big deal at all. It can be reinstalled. I'm assuming that any payment module that was added will now need to be reinstalled. And that is ok. Things certainly could be worse.

I ran into this same problem AGAIN when I installed the "Add customers from the Admin" module. If you're doing offline processing, unless you're a better programmer than I am (which shouldn't be too difficult a level of proficiency to acheive) I wouldn't recommend the "Add customers from the admin" module.
