    Default Free shipping - please help

    There seems to be problem with my shipping rates. Any product with free shipping only allows a store pickup (walk in) service. This is not the case I will post to the customer, in fact, I would like to totally remove the local pick up option.

    I have tried two options:

    Firstly, I set up the product to be "always free shipping"

    Secondly, I changed all products to normal shipping and I set the weight to 0. In the "configuration>Shipping/Packaging" tab I then set "Order Free Shipping 0 Weight Status" to 1.

    Both methods returned a free but "store pickup" only, and no other option.

    Please help. All I want to do is offer free shipping to UK customers and remove any other options.

    The two products can be found here.

    The product with free shipping option is the Animal Friends sticker

    The product with zero weight is Rocket and Spaceship sticker


    On a separate not how do I change the base weight metric to KG rather than lbs?

    Just an update:
    I have found the option to remove store pick up.

    However, removing this have left zero shipping options.

    Ok, another update.

    I've found a work around.

    in admin>modules>zone rates

    I set all weights to GB to be 0.00 i.e. 50:0.00

    I've set 0 weight packaging etc.

    This has worked!!!

    Also, I've added new zones, so that should I receive any orders from other countries they'd incure a surcharge, which I've called handling. Is there another way to include a surcharge on top of the cost per weight? I don't like the idea of charging customers a massive handling fee!

    Anyways, if anyone else have similar problems I hope this helps!!

    If you turn on the FREE SHIPPING! freeshipper shipping module this wil now show that shipping module when the order is Free Shipping based on 0 weight or Always Free Shipping ...

    All other shipping modules, except Store Pickup storepickup (if installed) will be disabled ...

    Thanks for getting back to me.

    I've tested your instructions on one item.

    First, I set the weight to 0 and checked the Yes, Always Free shipping.. It returns this:

    "Sorry, we are not shipping to your region at this time."

    The postage estimater returned:

    Second, I set the weight to 0.25 and checked the Yes, Always Free shipping.. it returned this:

    "Sorry, we are not shipping to your region at this time."

    Note: the weight of product remained 0. Is this because I set it to always free shipping?


    Third, I set the wieght to 0 and checked No, normal shipping rules.. it returned this:

    "Sorry, we are not shipping to your region at this time."

    Surely, it should have worked correctly?


    Fourth, I set the weight to 0.25 and checked No, normal shipping rules.. everything worked fine.

    I would settle with the fourth method. However, a problem would arise when I want to add shipping fees on some items and not on others.

    What are your thoughts?

    Could you go to the Zen Cart Admin in the Modules ... Shipping ... and see if you have the FREE SHIPPING! freeshipper installed and make sure you do not have a Zone set on it?

    The Zone was set to United Kingdom. I have now changed this to NONE.

    I'm not sure about this one. Would I need to include US in the ZONES module?

    I am not sure what you have but it looks like you turned off the State field ...

    Do you take payments from everywhere and ship to everywhere?

    If so, then you want to have a State field for those addresses that use it ...

    You might lokk in the Configuration ... Customer Details ... and see if you have the State turned off:
    State
    Display state field during account creation and with account information
