2006 MySQL server has gone away

Hello there,

My website (www.partycraze.com.au) was working fine this morning and a few hours later i tried to get on and it took a while to load and finally came up with this error:

2006 MySQL server has gone away
in:
[select code, title, symbol_left, symbol_right, decimal_point, thousands_point, decimal_places, value from currencies]

2006 MySQL server has gone away
in:
[select count(*) as total from sessions where sesskey = '0d39836932cf873c68fb5c4f0fcbb77a']

I have no clue on how to fix this, can someone please help?
