    Default Email not getting sent

I am having issue with email not getting sent when a purchase is made. Email not being sent to admin email address or to customer.

I contacted hosting company (Godaddy) and they did confirm I need to use SMTP settings but I am unsure where these settings are to be inserted into the email settings under the config email category.

The following is the information they sent me:

You are correct that you will need to choose SMTP. Use the server relay-hosting.secureserver.net, port 25. No authentication is required

I thank all in advance for any help you can provide.

I tried the directions from the link and I am still getting the following error when I try to send an email from the "tools/send email" category: SMTP Error: Could not connect to SMTP host. Is there anything else I should be trying?

The message means what it says: The SMTP host you specified isn't allowing your store to connect to it so it can send emails.

I strongly suggest you re-check your choice of hosting company. There are MANY informative discussions around here about their unsuitability for running an ecommerce website. This is just one of many problems you're likely to encounter with them.

    Dr. Byte,
I unfortunately am facing the same dilemma with Godaddy Hosting.. I am not receiving order confirmations and right now switching hosts just isn't a viable option. When I initially installed my zen cart, I kept getting Error, unable to instantiate email function.

Based on your last response I changed my SMPT server to: relay-hosting.secureserver.net on port 25. Now when I send an email through the admin panel no errors appear and the message is "Email Successfully Sent". However when I check my email I still get nothing.

Please advise any help you could give would be wonderful!

One the email leaves Zen Cart, there's nothing we can do to help you find it.

Ask your hosting company to trace the email and see where it ended up. Something they're doing is evidently dropping it.

Maybe your domain isn't properly configured? You'll have to take that up with *them*. http://www.zen-cart.com/wiki/index.p...Of_Lost_Emails
