If you want to accept credit cards, you need a merchant account. If you want to learn about what the requirements are, you'll need to talk to your local bank.

If you've got the "Basic Offline Credit Card" module in Zen Cart 1.3 enabled, you'll NEED a merchant account to process the card.

    No money changes hands.
    That module DOES NOTHING.
It only emails you part of the customer's credit card number.
YOU WILL NOT GET ANY MONEY using that module.

If you want to collect money, you will need to TURN OFF the Offline Credit Card module, and turn on PayPal or something else that you have set up an account with.

Well ... exactly. That's one reason why it's being removed in future versions.

we use the offline system extensively.

we process all cards manually and off line --

the card info and the card # split off has been a huge security protection for us and our clients.
