    help question Database can't save

I am now inside the "Database Setup"
I want to run my zencart on localhost cause I want to customize the theme. But the problem is that, I can't connect to the database I created from phpMyAdmin.

Please tell me if I am wrong...
    host : localhost
    user: root
    password: (i keep it blank)
database name: (the one I created from phpMyAdmin)

After I press "Save Database Settings" button, it will not continue... it said "The Connection was reset"

You need to insert the settings as per your hosting company's requirements.

Some say "localhost" and others will have a different server location for mySQL.

You need to know the DATABASE NAME, the DATABASE USERNAME and the DATABASE PASSWORD - and these three will have been created when you set up the initial (empty) database.

The data in the original (un-edited) configure.php files acts as a PLACE-HOLDER only.. YOU must remove things like "root" and insert the proper information.

Speak to your host for guidance on their systems.

Btw, if you ask me... the reason why I want to install zen cart v1.3.8a in my computer cause I want to customize the theme first before getting it online. BUT unfortunately I am still doing the installation on the wamp server with no luck on moving forward. I always end up on the "database setup window"....
After I press the "Save Database Settings" button from it, it will prompt an error saying "The connection was reset"

Please give me the right tutorial on doing this installation for zen cart v1.3.8a on the localhost using wampserver (Apache 2.2.11, PHP 5.3.0, MySQL 5.1.36). This will truly solve my problem and the rest who is claiming to have also the same issue. Thank you guys.

Idea or Suggestion Re: Database can't save

No problem now, I saw a solution and it all said on this thread

That Zen Cart v1.3.8a is not compatible with Wamp Server 2.0i
    It is compatible with 2.0h

You can download Wamp Server 2.0h here

eronkid, I will have to update the tutorial.... You can use the new version of Wampserver just download and use these versions. After setting Wamp up go to the taskbar icon and mouse over Apache/version/get more ect. and use/download the versions listed below.

    1) Apache 2.2.11
    2) PHP 5.2.9-2
    3) MySQL 5.1.33
