    Default Change of Template

    Hi All,

I need some help to help me change the template. I have got to a stage where I am stuck. My site has already has the Classic as default. However, I have download a Zen Template and extracted all files and have uploaded all to my server via Filezilla.

I can see the template on my cpanel but how do I upload it to my site so that the front page is the my chosen template and not the classic.

I have also tried to go to Template Selection in admin and can't see my dowloaded template.

I maybe be missing something or not clicking the right buttons..please help.

    Many Thanks

If you went to Admin - Tools - Template Selection, and your new template isn't there, it means that the template_info.php file is missing or in the wrong place.

Most times when this happens, the template files were uploaded to the wrong directory. Usually, the files are already in a directory 'tree', and the includes folder should be uploaded to the root folder of your store.

If you let us know what template you're trying to use, we might be able to advise furher.

Hi, I found the template_info.php which is in the custom folder found in public_html folder.

Am I on the right track now?

I'd guess you uploaded the files to the wrong place. Each template will have its own template_info.php file, in the template's home folder.

You want to unzip the silverfish zip file onto your local computer, then upload the includes folder to the public_html folder on your site. All the files and folders inside it will fall where they're supposed to. Then check admin again to see if its there.

Thanks. Yes I have done as you mentioned and both the include and the template_info.php are in cpanel/admin.

This is why I get confused and end of pressing the wrong keys. Can you please guide me from here as to what I need to do so that I can the site.

    Much Appreciated.
