Discount across whole shopping cart content

Hi,

I am brand-me new to this, so don't be calling me names immediately, hehe

Anyway, I can't figure out how to set up ZC to give me correct pricing in the following situation:

I have Products that come in sizes small to large and I want the shopper to get a discount based on how many he buys. In a given category all products have the same price.

So when the shopper selects 5 small, 10 large and 6 medium, I need to give him a discount based o the the following:
1-4 item: $14.95, 5-9 items:$12.95, 10-49item:$10.95, 50-99item:$8.95, 100-items:$5 each.

he should be paying $10.95 for all the items.

I tried with quantity pricing, but it doesn't seem to work correctly. What I want it to do is to charge the quantity pricing according to how many of the items he buys, regardless of their size. In the case above, he buys 21 items, so the price should be $10.95 per item.

How do I set ZC up to do this for me?

In a situation like this where you're grouping different products, you need to use the Quantity Discounts contribution from the Free Software Add Ons.

Hi,

I looked about on your web site, but can't figure out if the Discount module lets you have different discounts for different categories.

Assumption: I have a category T-shirts with 2 subcategories: Black T-shirts and White T-Shirts. I also have another category: Bumper Stickers.
I want the T-shirts to be discounted the same, but the bumper stickers need different quantity/discount levels than the T-shirts for their category. (bumper stickers are much cheaper and the T-shirt discount would make them essentially free)

Can this be done in your module, or do the quantity/discount levels apply to all categories only. I.e., can the categories have different discount levels and where is this set-up?

Also, in your Discount Preview extension it states on your web site:
"Want see the subtotal after discounts? Some people like this and others don't, so I make it optional. Just ask if you want it."

One can't define that somewhere, or one only get's this if one asks for it when ordering?

Answer to your second question by PM.

Answer to your first question: the level and amount fields in the admin are applied across the board. If you need to have exceptions, see the help and search for "apply_special_category_discount". There is an example in the FAQ.

For those of you wondering how this ended:

I bought the discount preview mod and installed the quantity discount mod from the TheSoftwareGuy (see messages above)

It works like a charm, I am a very happy puppy!
