PLEASE HELP - cart not working right now

OK - all was well until I tried to add gift certificates at a product. It went to a blank page when I tried to add the gift certificate to my cart - wouldnt refresh. Even after I deleted the gift certificate product and category, the cart will not refresh when adding or removing new products.
I am on ZenCart 1.3.8 I believe (the newest version). This is my first time using ZC and have only had it installed for a couple days. All is is good - how can I get my shopping cart working again? I noticed that since this botch, the address line in the browser seems to be omitting an "s" or the ".php" it needs. Any ideas? I am on a time crunch and I really dont want to have to uninstall, reinstall. Would turning off the Paypal Standard and turning it back on fix the problem?
I have the USPS shipping module addon, and the paypal payments standard but thats it.

Anything I add to the cart results in the blank page. Did you modify any files recently or install a mod?

What you need to do is download and add the Debug Error Logging Utility file to your site. Once you have done that, add an item to your cart and when you encounter the blank page, a log file will be created. Open up the log file the debug utility creates. The log information should provide some clues as to the cause of the issue.

Ok - installed the debugger but I cant find anything on the lines it says are issues - they are blank

Another thing I noticed is there are debugging files now in my files list under /includes/modules/debug_blocks/product_info_prices.php and /includes/modules/debug_blocks/shopping_cart_contents.php

I am already reading thru the page you sent me - but I cant figure out why it is not working - it has something, I suspect, to do with the white space but not sure. I did not modify any of thpse type of items. I only changed the "shipping & returns" to read simply "Shipping" for my menu item. Dont know that it would have caused all this.

Did you look in the /cache folder? The log files the debug utility creates will be found in your /cache folder.

They will look similar to this: myDEBUG-1238421179.log

GOT IT!!! Thank you so much! It was definitely revealed in the debugging files. There were extra spaces after the ?> in one of my files. Did not think I would see it that easily, so I surprised myslef - thank you again, especially for being so quick to respond and offer help.

Glad you found the problem and are up and running again

Oh, make sure to either delete or rename that debugging utility file. When I first started to use it, I forgot to turn it off by renaming or deleting it. It kept making log files that I didn't need
