Triggering download link

Hi,
I have downloads working just about fine on my store, however, when I test out the purchasing of a download and enter incorrect credit card information, I still receive the download instructions and link to the downloadable product.

How can I make it verify the payment before the information is given?

What you're describing doesn't make sense, unless you're using the Offline Credit Card module, which does no real validation of payment because it does NOT actually process any credit cards in real time.

If you're using a real live payment gateway which does the transaction in real time, then a failed payment will cause the customer to be returned to the payment-options screen.

Furthermore, I don't understand what you mean by "I still receive the download instructions" or by "and link to the downloadable product". You'll need to clarify more specifically what you're saying in both of those parts.

What I mean is that, and I'm using Authorize.net as a gateway, but if I purchase a download item with false credit card information, it still provides me with the download information to download the product.

For example, if you went to Amazon.com and purchased a MP3 with a made up credit card, you should not be able to download it successfully, right?

Right, and the same with Zen Cart.

I'm pretty sure you've got the wrong payment module activated.

1. Go to Admin->Modules->Payment.
2. List here the names of everything listed there without a red dot next to it.
3. Click on "Basic Credit Card - Offline", and then click "Remove"
4. Click on Authorize.net-AIM, and configure it by following the instructions:

Check also in Configuration->Attributes Settings the Downloads Controller min/max order status settings. Those control the range of Order Status values within which a download is allowed.
