Paypal IPN

only just noticed, but when i order 2 items or more
go to pay with paypal
it says
<webshop name> Purchase
QTY = 1

now if i was a customer and i saw this after i was ordering 5 items etc
i would be like....wtf!!!
any idea how to get it to show the quantity of whats in the order
and/or list the items & qty??

yet there is meant to be 2 items at 1.34 each...

The IPN module always sends an aggregated cart to PayPal, summarizing the total purchase. Just like a debit/credit card receipt would do. The actual full details are on the receipt from your store.

If you want detailed line-by-line info on your PayPal side, use Express Checkout instead.

i tried express checkout DrByte, but on express checkout, it still doesn't show what I'm purchasing on paypal :S
it may do on the receipt once you have payed...

but if i was a customer, id like to see what im about to pay for, before i pay for it...

It's not a one-line fix. There are many excellent technical reasons why it is the way it is.

Do you *actually* have real customers complaining about this? Or are you just trying to satisfy your own preferences?
As I said, the Express Checkout module gives you the visual appearances which satisfy your particular personal taste.

no customer complaints, but then again, no customers...
just from my point of view and my boss's it could discourage purchases...

but on the express module, when you click "continue" and it takes you to the paypal screen, it doesn't show what you are purchasing.....
thats the bit we want.....when it takes you to paypal. to see the items you are purchasing...
